LIFE REGULATION STRATEGY

What is Life Regulation Strategy?

Life Regulation Strategy is a holistic approach to healing that focuses on understanding the deep connection between the mind, body, and emotions. It incorporates advanced therapeutic methods such as Somatic Experiencing, Biological Decoding, and integrates key theories from Peter A. Levine, Bruce Lipton and Henri Laborit to create a comprehensive framework for emotional and physical well-being.

Somatic Experiencing (SE)

Developed by Dr. Peter A. Levine, Somatic Experiencing is a body-focused therapy that addresses trauma's impact on the nervous system. According to Levine’s research, trauma is not only a psychological issue but also a physiological one, often stored in the body and disrupting the natural regulation of the nervous system. Somatic Experiencing encourages individuals to reconnect with their bodily sensations, gently releasing stored tension and helping the body return to its natural state of balance. By focusing on the physical experience, SE facilitates the processing of unresolved trauma and supports the body's natural healing mechanisms, making it an essential part of Life Regulation Strategy for restoring emotional and physiological well-being.

Biological Decoding

Biological Decoding links emotional stress to physical symptoms, helping individuals uncover and address the subconscious emotions that manifest as physical illnesses. This concept aligns with Bruce Lipton’s research, which shows how beliefs and emotions directly influence cellular function and gene expression. By decoding the emotional roots of physical symptoms, individuals can promote deep and lasting healing from within.

Henri Laborit’s Theories on Stress and Inhibition of Action

Henri Laborit introduced the concept of inhibition of action, which describes the physiological and psychological effects of being unable to act in response to stress. Over time, this inhibited response can lead to chronic conditions such as anxiety, depression, and physical illness. Life Regulation Strategy addresses these stress responses, promoting emotional release and physical healing.

Somato-Emotional Therapy

Somato-Emotional Therapy is a holistic treatment approach that connects the physical body and emotions. It acknowledges that emotional experiences, especially unresolved trauma, can be stored in the body, leading to chronic tension, discomfort, or even pain. This therapy helps release those trapped emotions, promoting healing on both emotional and physical levels.

In practice, Somato-Emotional Therapy involves the practitioner using gentle touch and bodywork techniques to locate areas in the body where emotional tension might be held. By focusing on these tension points, the therapy encourages emotional release while simultaneously addressing physical symptoms. Clients are guided to connect with their emotions in a safe and supportive environment, allowing the body to process and release stored emotional energy. The therapy doesn’t merely treat the physical symptoms but aims to resolve the emotional roots behind them, providing longer-lasting relief and balance.

This therapy is particularly beneficial for individuals who experience chronic tension or pain that traditional treatments haven’t resolved. It also helps those dealing with emotional stress and blockages that affect their overall well-being. Furthermore, it is highly effective for trauma recovery, offering a way for clients to release emotional pain stored in the body without having to re-experience the trauma.

Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT)

Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT), also known as "tapping," is a simple yet highly effective method for reducing stress, emotional distress, and physical discomfort. Developed by Gary Craig in the 1990s, EFT combines principles of ancient Chinese acupressure with modern psychology. By tapping on specific acupressure points while focusing on negative emotions or physical pain, EFT helps release energy blockages in the body and promotes emotional and physical well-being.

How Does EFT Work?

In a typical EFT session, you will gently tap with your fingertips on specific meridian points on the body, such as the forehead, chin, and collarbone. As you tap, you focus on the issue you want to address—whether it’s emotional, like stress or anxiety, or physical, like pain or tension. At the same time, you repeat phrases that acknowledge the problem and foster self-acceptance, allowing you to confront and release the negative emotions tied to it.

What Can EFT Help With?

EFT is versatile and can be applied to a wide range of issues, including:

  • Stress and Anxiety: Quickly reduce stress and manage anxiety.

  • Emotional Trauma: Address past emotional traumas without reliving them.

  • Physical Pain: Relieve tension and pain, especially when linked to emotional distress.

  • Phobias and Fears: Tackle specific fears, such as public speaking or flying.

  • Everyday Stressors: Improve daily resilience by managing overwhelming emotions.
